Another lovely selection of 54mm Australian troops in Vietnam by Aussie modeller, painter and illustrator Greg Blake. Greg painted these white metal figures with Vallejo Acrylics and Matt varnished them with Testors Dullcote. The models were produced by a small but short lived Aussie company a few years ago and are sadly no longer available. See Greg's earlier posts for US Marines and Viet Cong from the same conflict.

Here's a few pics of a NEW 54mm winter cottage just produced by expert model building and scenery maker Jan in the UK. Jan has featured on the BLOG quite a few times in the past now and makes superb custom made buildings and scenery in any scale. I've had quite a few pieces made over the past couple of years including some beautiful Boxer Rebellion scenery items.

Aussie Tom is back again with a series of pics of his latest project. Tom has created some American Gangsters plus a couple of suitable vehicles circa 1920 all made from self hardening modelling clay in 54mm scale. Tom has incorporated the models into a diorama of a road block during 'prohibition' which depicts two rival gangs about to exchange gunfire in a bloody confrontation for the 'grog' somewhere on a quiet back road in America. With Thompson sub machine guns, shotguns and semi automatic pistols blazing this confrontation can only end in tears! Thanks Tom and we all look forward to your next project.

Aussie collector and modeller Brian sent me these great pics of his recently completed French Napoleonic Artillery trains. The guns were made by that famous company Hinchliffe, which are hard to find these days, and the horses and figures were produced by Rose Miniatures several years ago now. Brian has combined the two to form a spectacular display. More from Brian soon.

'Aussie Band Man' Ralph sent me these pics of his recently completed 30mm scale mounted band project depicting the 1st Australian Horse C.1900. Ralph had the models specially made by a local sculptor and painted this set in GLOSS enamels. Being an ex Royal Australian Navy Bandsman, Ralph is very partial to toy and model soldier musicians and has amassed a large and impressive collection of bands, particularly in his favoured scale of 30mm.

Aussie Tom is back again with the final instalment of his Australian Bush Ranger diorama. Tom has added some additional bush rangers to the scene who are emerging from the cover of the bush and some large rocks to exchange gun fire with mounted Victoria Police Troopers performing gold escort duties. Congratulations to Tom for another great scene, made entirely from self hardening modelling clay.
